White Collar Blue
White Collar Blue is an Australian television series made by Knapman Wyld Television for Network Ten from 2002 to 2003. Starring Peter O'Brien as Joe Hill and Freya Stafford as Harriet Walker, the series dealt with a division of the police force working in the city of Sydney and the personal and professional tensions affecting their work and lives. In the pilot episode, Harriet is introduced as the new face to Kingsway station, transferring from the "White Collar" federal police to the "Blue Collar" New South Wales Police. Throughout the series Harriet must deal not only with her husband's brutal murder and the revelation of his adultery, but with learning to adjust and fit into her new surroundings. Joe is Harriet's new partner, and isn't exactly welcoming to her as an addition to the team. With two daughters from previous marriages, Joe needs to juggle his homelife, his dedication to the job and his relationship with Nicole Brown, played by Jodie Dry. The other cops at the station are Ted Hudson, played by Richard Carter, Sophia Marinkovitch and Theo Rahme, and each have their own secrets and problems to deal with. The series was axed after two seasons, however it can be found on cable TV both in Australia and overseas.

While testifying in the trial of high-profile criminal Nick Hammer, Sophie is humiliated on the witness stand by an aggressive defence lawyer who calls her credibility into question. The case is lost and Joe gets into a heated argument with lawyer, Ray Jarvis, outside of court. Ray files an official complaint against Joe and Internal Affairs is called in to investigate the incident. Harriet won't lie to help Joe out of trouble. Her reluctance to help Joe may be warranted as Ray is soon found beaten in his home, claiming on TV for all to see that Detective Joe Hill was responsible for the attack. Joe readily admits he paid Ray a visit but that Ray refused to see him. It now falls on Joe's colleagues to not only prove his innocence, but to rebuild their original case against Nick Hammer and bring him to justice.
The Kingsway detectives are called in when the body of a young woman is found caught in a weir in a national park. It is learned the woman, a primary school teacher, was involved with a group of swingers, leading detectives to suspect the involvement of someone from within the group. The reported disappearance of another woman becomes a key element in allowing Joe and Harriet to solve the case. Despite his persistence, Sophie avoids Theo's overtures as she continues to keep details of her private life just that.
Joe and Harriet head up the investigation of a young model's death after her naked body is found in a city dump. Harriet quickly runs afoul of the dead woman's parents who are resentful of the modelling industry which they blame for their daughter's death. Complicating matters is the involvement of two of the office's staff members with the investigation: photos of Nicole, a former model herself, appear in the portfolio of a photographer under suspicion, and Theo is seen on a surveillance video chatting up the young model in a club just hours before her death. On the home front, Joe is having reservations about having Nicole move in with him while Harriet revives a longstanding disagreement with her mother when she challenges her over her dislike of police officers.
The discovery of a blood-soaked four-year-old girl walking alone on the roadside leads detectives Hill and Walker to the scene of a bloody massacre that has left an entire family dead, save the young girl and her injured father. The investigation is particularly hard on Harriet as it takes her back to the recent murder of her husband Matt. To make matters worse, she has learned, second hand, that the DPP has consented to drop the murder charge against the woman accused of the crime in exchange for a guilty plead to the lesser charge of manslaughter. On the verge of a breakdown, Harriet must stay focused as she and her colleagues work to locate a killer.
The body of a popular local swimming coach is pulled from a pool and the Kingsway detectives are called upon to investigate the murder. The coach, Jimmy O'Sullivan, was a life-long friend of Ted Hudson and rumours of his possibly being a paedophile do not sit well with the Senior Sergeant. Theo offers his support to Sophie, who is feeling hard-done-by, however an intimate moment between the two is interrupted by her four-year-old son. Back at work, Theo is forced to reveal Sophie's secret to Hudson who, as she feared, quickly reassigns her to a sexual assault case before finally suggesting she stick to desk duty for the time being.
The pursuit of a stolen car ends tragically when a police officer is killed after an iron bar is thrown from an overpass, smashing through the car's windscreen and piercing the driver's chest. The officer, Albie Borich, is an estranged friend of Theo, who must break the news to Albie's wife, who is pregnant with what Theo believes could be his child. The investigation of the case is difficult for Theo who roughs up Lenny Hunter, a man suspected of being the driver of the stolen car. Police suspect the accident may have been an ambush, targeting the policeman responsible for arresting Lenny's brother, but is all what it seems?
The Kingsway detectives are called in when an eleven-year-old girl is abducted from outside her school and held for ransom. The family's recent lottery win would appear to explain why their daughter was targeted but the detectives' suspicions also fall on the mother. The father's argumentative behaviour doesn't help matters and threatens to derail the detectives' hopes for an uncomplicated exchange of money for the girl's safe return. Joe takes the case personally and takes it upon himself to find the culprit, but his deep involvement begins to affect both his family and his relationship with Nicole who is still uncertain of where she stands.
An old unsolved case that has dogged Joe for nine years is reopened when a young woman is drugged and assaulted at a local beach. The attack is carried out in much the same manner as the murders of two teenage girls nine years earlier, one of whom's necklace the new victim is inexplicably wearing. The suspect in those crimes avoided prosecution due to insufficient evidence but Joe is quick to tie in the new attack with the unsolved crimes and begins building a case against him. Tension mounts when evidence links the suspect to a missing person case, the latest victim falls prey to a suspicious accident that could prevent her testimony, and the investigation is hampered by mistakes that could destroy the case before it's even built. With the investigation unraveling, Nicole, whose ambitions to enroll in the Police Acadamy are in jeopardy thanks to an incident from her past, volunteers to go undercover, placing her life at risk to obtain a confession and ensure the killer's conviction.
