Meanwhile, Janissaries threatened to revolt to prevent Çandarlı’s execution, despite Kurtçu's attempts to calm them. The rebellion ensued, and a trial was held where Mehmed stood as the plaintiff and Çandarlı as the defendant before Hızır. Found guilty, Çandarlı was sentenced to execution, officially marking the end of his era.
