Cracks in Ace and Gem's marriage begin to surface after the former fires Teo. Not long after Teo regains his job, Divino dismisses him upon uncovering his criminal records in Morocco. While an unlikely person steps in to defend him, Gem's disdain remains clear. Still unable to shake his suspicions, Teo finds another way to strip away Gem's pretense.

Teo is shaken after witnessing Ace brutally assault Gem, realizing the depth of his obsession and cruelty. Upon learning that their permanent move to the US has been canceled, Gem quietly sets her backup plan in motion.
